New month, new Tree Charter principle!

The January blues are over and February is here!  This year we’re getting inspired month by month by sharing how the charter branch network is delivering the Tree Charter’s 10 principles.

Our principal focus for February is ACCESS: making trees accessible to all.

Everyone deserves to enjoy woods and trees near them, but not everyone even knows where their nearest wood is, let alone is able to get out and enjoy it.  The charter branch network is helping to overcome the barriers to access! Just a few examples from some of you include: making local woods more user-friendly, including improving paths for wheelchair users, taking young people from deprived urban areas on trips to learn woodland skills and fighting to protect trees in urban environments.
